The team here have been very busy analysing samples from harvest for Hagberg Falling Number as well as milling grain to provide flour for our rheology testing. There are loaves being test baked and greenhouse plants being harvested. We are also preparing leaf samples for DNA extraction in the laboratory. We use molecular markers during the winter months to tell us more about the wheat breeding lines which are growing in the field. The aim is to obtain as much information as possible before we start looking at the plots in the field when the spring arrives.
