OXFORD is a textbook choice of variety for farmers, which joined the Recommended List last year (2023/24). OXFORD is a high yielding hard feed wheat (Group 4), which provides growers a strong disease resistance package and a high protein content, with proven parentage from the same lines as the World Record breaking CHAMPION.
OXFORD has shown high yields in trials, particularly in the West of the UK (104%) and has demonstrated a strong untreated yield at 88% with a high Hagberg Falling Number (202). This variety shows good resistance to lodging in both treated and untreated plots standing at 86.4 cm. In common with most varieties, it may require a PGR.
OXFORD offers growers orange wheat blossom midge resistance and DSV’s unique genetics which provide robust resistance to Septoria (6.6), Mildew (5) and, in particular, yellow rust (8).
With high performance in all key areas, OXFORD boasts a high yield as well as a robust agronomic package with strong disease resistance and grain quality, making it top choice for farmers this season.
Due to OXFORD's powerful growth, the breeder doesn't recommend drilling in the early September drilling spot. The latest safe sowing date for OXFORD is late-January
