DSV’s new virtual trial plot tour is designed to give visitors all the latest information on the company’s varieties across all crop types and go some way to replacing the experience they would have had at this year’s technical events, says the company’s Sarah Hawthorne.
Accessible by computer, tablet or phone, the interactive site features videos, pop-ups and links to DSV’s main website with information on wheat, barley, oilseed rape, forages and maize varieties as well as featuring a section on Turnip Yellow Virus, she explains.
“With so many shows and technical events cancelled this summer we wanted to bring as much information to growers as we could in an as easy to use and engaging manner possible.
“By clicking around our virtual trials site, visitors can compare varieties, see new ones that are coming though and learn about vital crop management issues such as TuYV in oilseed rape.”
Key features on the oilseed rape front are DSV’s new high performing variety Voltage, its latest Clearfield variety Simplex CL and its Clubroot resitant variety Crocodile, she explains.
“Visitors can also learn about DSV’s highly septoria resistant wheat Theodore and our new top yielding six row winter barley Sensation which features BYDV and BYMV strain 1 and 2 tolerance.”
